Jewberry Installation Instructions

STEP 1

Before you begin you must make sure that you're APN is enabled on your Blackberry device. Your settings will be different depending on whether your service provider is Cingular, TMobile, Verizon, Sprint, etc. We cannot support Blackberries all over the world, but, we will do our best to help ensure that your APN settings are set correctly so you can use Jewberry. We've provided information below for the 3 major carriers in the US.

You can click here to see an online post that provides information for users to set up their WAP settings on different devices all over the world. You can also check our Forum for more info or do a Google search for "WAP settings, your provider, your device".

Getting to the APN settings area is the same for all devices. You need to click on "Options" then "Advanced Options" then "TCP".

If the APN field is populated you are probably in good shape and can skip to STEP 2 in the installation instructions.

If it's not filled out input the following info depending on your provider (again, this should work, but , no guarantees):

CINGULAR
APN: wap.cingular
Username for APN: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Password for APN: cingular1

SPRINT
APN: No configuration needed
Username for APN: No configuration needed
Password for APN: No configuration needed

TMOBILE
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username for APN: (blank)
Password for APN: (blank)

VERIZON
APN: No configuration needed
Username for APN: No configuration needed
Password for APN: No configuration needed

Make sure to hard reboot your device when done. This means remove the battery from the device, wait a few seconds and put it back in. When it turns back on proceed with STEP 2.

STEP 2

After your purchase is complete, you will receive an email with a link to download Jewberry Over The Air (OTA) directly from your Blackberry. In that email you will have your unique serial number. Make sure to highlight the serial number, select "Copy" from the trackwheel. (You will need this number to activate your Jewberry software after you've installed it on your device.)

Now, click the link sent to you via email to download and install the Jewberry software.

When the software is finished installing, a window will pop up that says: "The application was successfully installed". You can click "Ok" or click "Run".

You will either:

1. see an icon on the Blackberry desktop that looks like a "siddur" with an Israeli start on the cover - Click on it.

or

2. be taken directly to the registration screen.

A screen will come up asking you for your Serial Number and your email address. Move the cursor into the Serial Number field and click the trackwheel. Click "Paste". Your serial number should now appear in the field. Type in your email address.

Click the trackwheel again and click "Update".

The final step requires the acknowledgement of accepting HTTP connections. The first time your device makes a connection to the wireless carrier’s network you will be presented with a popup screen on your BlackBerry Phone. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SELECT THE APPROPRIATE ITEMS. For the list selection, use the track wheel and for the check box, use the space bar.

The pop up will say:

"The application Jewberry has requested a http connection to Jewberry.com

Don't ask this again for:

all http connections

http connections to Jewberry.com"

Check both boxes and click "Allow this Connection".

(Important Note: If by chance you accidentally selected to Deny the connection, your Jewberry application will never register. You will be presented with the “Registration Failed” message. You will need to go into your Options from the Home Screen. From Options select Security Options, then select Firewall. Then from the pull down menu select Reset Settings. If this occurs you will need to re-enter your Jewberry registration information.)

You've now registered your Jewberry software!
